Stuff About Me

Hi, I'm Tori, and once upon a time I wanted to be an artist when I grew up. Instead, I ended up spending nearly half a decade in the world of Accenture healthcare technology and management consulting. I can make a mean presentation, I'm comfortable working under crazy tight deadlines, and I've worked with both techies and business folk, from BAs to VPs and everything in between. While I learned an obscene amount during my consulting journey — traveling all over the US, working with several different clients on a variety of projects — the most valuable lesson I learned was that health technology would never be my long-term passion. After I was exposed to the world of UX while on a consumer engagement project, I came away with a strong case of UX fever. Not unlike cat scratch fever. So I zigged back to my creative roots after a four year consulting zag and I couldn’t be happier with that choice.

Recently, I spent 12 weeks at DESIGNATION honing my full-stack design skills and putting my consulting experience hard to work for clients. I have a sharp eye for detail and have been known to get overly excited about the importance of user-centered design. To prove it, take a gander at some of my recent work.

I also get jazzed up about stuff outside of UX. I love musicals (Alexander Hamilton is up next), cats (I have two), hiking, reading, consuming hot sauce (currently partial to Arizona Gunslinger), and snowboarding (Colorado was a revelation after learning in my hometown of Cleveland).
